Samsung authorized to test autonomous cars

Samsung Electronics [4] has obtained the agreement of the South Korean authorities to test autonomous cars on the highway. Since the beginning of 2016, some 20 tests have been carried out in the country, notably by the car manufacturer Hyundai.

The South Korean government has also reduced the number of passengers required to test independent cars from two to one person per vehicle. This initiative aims at simplifying regulatory procedures and encouraging the development of this industry.
