EXIN has acquired 75% of Ethniki Hellenic General Insurance from the National Bank of Greece (NBG). The transaction amounted to 718 Million EUR (819.2 million USD). The NBG, however,maintains 25% stake in the Greek insurer and will benefit from an exclusive bancassurance distribution agreement over a period Of ten years.
EXIN has thus concluded its second acquisition on the Greek market. In December 2016, the Dutch insurer had already bought back a 50% stake in the capital of AIG Greece.
