Introduction of a tax on non life insurance products in the UAE

Insurance premiums will be subject to a 5% tax (VAT) as of 1 January 2018 while the life class of business will be exempt from taxation.

This information was disclosed at a recent workshop held by the Insurance Association of the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC Insurance Association).
