Savings insurance in full swing in Morocco

According to the insurance and social welfare supervisory authority (ACAPS), the turnover of the savings class of business has increased by 81% in two years. The latter went from 7.5 billion MAD (761.8 million USD) in 2015 to 13.6 billion MAD (1.4 billion USD) in 2017.

Several factors explain the popularity of this type of very flexible product. The tax advantage (reduction of the beneficiary's income tax) is an undeniable asset. In addition, yields can reach 4.5% instead of the 3% used on term deposits.
