Scor, results of the first quarter 2018

Scor published its quarterly financial results as at 31 March 2018. The French reinsurer showed a net profit of 166 million EUR (204.5 million USD), up by 18.6% compared to 140 million EUR (150.3 million USD) ) in 2017.

As for turnover, it rose slightly by 0.9% to reach 3.77 billion EUR (4.64 billion USD).

In terms of underwriting subscriptions, Scor Global Life, life entity, generated 2.29 billion EUR (2.82 billion USD) in premiums against 1.48 billion EUR (1.82 billion USD) for Scor Global P & C, the non life entity.

The non-life combined ratio decreased by 2.7 points going from 94.5% in the first quarter of 2017 to 91.8% during the same period of 2018.
