Apr 2018 China is intent on merging the supervisory body of the insurance sector, China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) with that of the banking industry China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC).
The initiative, designed to consolidate financial oversight, comes at a time when the country’s command over skyrocketing asset acquisition abroad seems to have failed, which is drawing the course of the Yuan down.
