The Sunu Group has announced the acquisition of 58.08% of the capital of the Togolese bank, Banque Populaire pour l'Epargne et le Crédit (BPEC).
This transaction, carried out by SUNU Investment Holding SA (SIH), the group's banking division, makes the pan-African group the largest shareholder of BPEC, followed by the Cauris & Afric Invest funds (19.52%). The rest of the shareholding is held by nationals and various minority shareholders.
BPEC's capital is also increased by 14 308 960 000 FCFA (23 942 040 USD) to reach 20 808 960 000 FCFA (34 817 970 USD) in accordance with the regulator's requirements.
Through this operation, SUNU Investment Holding SA strengthens its portfolio with stakes in African banking institutions. As a reminder, the insurer is already present in the capital of BICICI, Ecobank CI, BIA-Niger and BOA-Senegal.
