According to Lebanon’s association of insurance companies (ACAL), Lebanese insurers reported a combined turnover of 1.63 billion USD in 2017, up by 3.8% compared to 2016. This performance is accounted for by premium increases in the classes of health, life, goods transport, motor and fire.
Life insurance accounted for 30.9% of the overall underwriting volume compared to 69.1% for the non life class of business.
