May 2018 According to Khalid Al Badi, president of Emirates Insurance Association, the new regulations adopted in the United Arab Emirates have made the UAE insurance market a leader of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Written premiums went from 40 billion AED (10.9 billion USD) in 2016 to 44 billion AED (12 billion USD) in 2017.
Funds invested increased by 17.8 percent to reach 61.5 billion AED (16.7 billion USD) compared to 52.2 billion AED (14.2 billion USD) in 2016.
