Oct 2008 The city of Barcelona is hosting the headquarter of a new establishment, the Mediterranean Insurance Association (MIA) which is entrusted with the promotion of insurance role in the Mediterranean basin. Its main objectives are risk prevention, management improvement, the adoption of environmentally friendly practices as well as the creation of a Mediterranean development bank as a tool for the achievement of that purpose. The Lebanese Abraham Matossian has been elected Chairman of this association.
