The General Court of the European Union confirms the guarantees granted by the State to the CCR

CCR VS SCORThe European justice has decided in favour of the Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR), rejecting the appeal filed by the reinsurer SCOR [4].

In 2016, the French reinsurance leader appealed against the decision of the European Commission, which validated the "French Natural Disaster scheme".

SCOR believed that the CCR [5] benefited, via the State support, from a near-monopoly on the natural disaster covers.

The European Commission considered that the granting of this guarantee is consistent with the rules of the European internal market.
