The European justice has decided in favour of the Caisse Centrale de RĂ©assurance (CCR), rejecting the appeal filed by the reinsurer SCOR [4].
In 2016, the French reinsurance leader appealed against the decision of the European Commission, which validated the "French Natural Disaster scheme".
SCOR believed that the CCR [5] benefited, via the State support, from a near-monopoly on the natural disaster covers.
The European Commission considered that the granting of this guarantee is consistent with the rules of the European internal market.
