Jun 2008 A subsidiary of the group ZimRe Holding, the company ZIMRE Reinsurance (Zimre-Re) is planning to extend its operations to Malawi by investing especially in real estate through ZimRe Property Investments (ZPI).
Being very active at the regional level, the group set up in 2007 a reinsurance company in Zimbabwe endowed with a capital of 1.2 million USD. In Zambia, Zimre Re has reported a gross premium volume of 3.6 million USD in 2007 whereas in Malawi the turnover amounted to 3.5 million USD in the same year.
