Solomon Lartey, "Best General Insurance CEO of the year 2019"

At the 27^th Ghana Insurance Awards ceremony, The CEO and managing director of Activa International Insurance Ghana, Solomon Lartey, was awarded the "Best General Insurance CEO of the year 2019" prize. The event took place in the capital Accra on July 27, 2019.

This distinction illustrates the insurance company's good performance:

• a 20% increase in premiums in 2018 compared to an average increase in the sector of 3%. This performance allowed it to establish itself in the 7th position of the non-life market, which has 29 operators.
• an improvement in profits of 47% between 2017 and 2018.

S. Lartey used the ceremony to highlight the challenges facing the Ghanaian insurance industry, citing, among other things, the low penetration rate and the difficulty of complying with minimum capital requirements for Ghana's insurers, reinsurers and brokers [4].
