The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS), whose primary mission is to protect the policyholders, organised an awareness day intended for consumer protection associations on 20 November 2019 in Casablanca, Morocco.
In order to balance the relationship between an insurance professional and a non-professional, the supervisory authority must protect the weak party from the stronger one. For this reason, ACAPS' control over insurance companies is intended to protect firstly the insured from the insurer's abuses. The Supervisory Authority alos makes sure that insurers are bound to fulfill their commitments. If not, they are subject to penalties.
