The Tunisian authorities have granted a license to Waica Re which is authorized to underwrite reinsurance business from Tunis. The decision was published in the Official Gazette on 3 January 2020.
Established in 2011, Waica Re's main shareholders are the Sates of Ghana, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Gambia and Liberia. Its paid-up share capital amounts to 65 million USD with a turnover of 58 million USD in 2018.
Headquartered in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The Tunis office is run by Hanène Boukhris.
