Michael Van Der Straaten has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of QIC Global, Qatar Insurance Group's international insurance and reinsurance division, effective 1 March 2020.
He will also continue to serve as CEO of Qatar Re. Joe Battle, CEO of Antares, Lloyd's entity of QIC Global, will report to Van Der Straaten. For his part, Sunil Talwar retains his position as Chairman of QIC Global.
M. Van Der enjoys over 35 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance. During his career, he has held various senior positions at Canopius Group, Chubb and QIC Europe.
