The Indian insurance regulator (IRDAI) denied the request of property and casualty insurers to alleviate prudential rules in the face of COVID-19.
The measures suggested by insurance companies involve: the adjustment of the calculation of solvency margin; a sixty-day grace period for health insurance policies.
However, the supervisory authorities are also committed to handling individually the situation of insurers in financial distress.
