Hannover Re's parent head company Talanx publishes its results for 2019. The holding company reported a turnover of 39.494 billion EUR (44.22 billion USD) compared to 34.885 billion EUR (39.9 billion USD) a year earlier, : an increase of 13.2%.
The net profit amounted to 923 million EUR (1.033 billion USD), rising by 31.2% compared to 703 million EUR (804.08 million USD) in 2018. Despite the losses related to the hurricanes in the Bahamas and in the United States and the Japanese typhoons, the combined ratio remained stable at 98.3% (against 98.2% in 2018).
The operating profit increased by 19.6% over one year, from 2.032 billion EUR (2.32 billion USD) to 2.43 billion EUR (2.72 billion USD) twelve months later. By the end of 2019 the ROE stood at 9.8%
