CoronavirusA.M. Best subjected insurance companies to a test to evaluate the impact of the coronavirus on their financial strength.

According to the rating agency, insurers and reinsurers will be able to bear the costs generated by COVID-19. Their capital enables them to withstand the impact of the pandemic.

The test results showed that the life and health insurers were the most affected by the virus, in addition to mortgage insurers and companies with large transportation portfolios.

Property and casualty insurers seemed to be more resilient to the COVID-19 crisis.
