In partnership with the broker Marsh and the Zurich Insurance Group, the World Economic Forum (WEF), has published a report on the impact of Covid-19 [4] on the economy.
At the global level, the report forecasts for the near future:
- a 13 to 32% decline in trade,
- a 1% increase in unemployment,
- a 30 to 40% drop in foreign direct investment,
- a 2% increase in chronic diseases,
- Impacts on schooling and mental health.
In addition, the precariousness of the populations is tremendously increasing, with nearly 500 million people threatened by poverty.
