The Moroccan insurance market has recorded a 25 billion MAD (2.55 billion USD) turnover as at 30 June 2020, which translates to a 0.9% increase compared to 24.76 billion MAD (2.57 billion USD) reported in H1 2019.
Non-life premiums have climbed by 0.6% from 14.31 billion MAD (1.48 billion USD) in H1 2019 to 14.4 billion MAD (1.46 billion USD) a year later.
With a 10.6 billion MAD (1.08 billion USD) turnover, the life activity is growing by 1.4%.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the non-life collection rate fell by 16 points in 2020, dropping from 77% as at 30 June 2019 to 61% at the end of June 2020.
