The Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR) has created a think tank to establish an exceptional system of health risks coverage.
According to Youcef Benmicia, President of the UAR, Algerian insurance companies [4] cannot face alone the consequences of a pandemic. Upon this premise, the UAR is considering insurance and reinsurance mechanisms to provide solutions for the consequences of crises such as Covid-19. For the UAR, any solution requires the intervention of the State.
