Axa Life Insurance Egypt, a subsidiary of the French group AXA, has launched a new product called "Cancer Protect"./
Targeting people aged 21 to 50 years old, the product covers part of the expenses incurred for the treatment of early-stage cancer and all expenses incurred for the advanced stages of the disease.
Cancer Protect also allows the insured to receive a second medical opinion from specialist doctors abroad. This service is offered to policyholders twice a year for the duration of the policy.
The fixed-rate policy is for a period of 15 years. The underwriting process requires the customers to complete a simple questionnaire and is carried out via the various distribution channels of AXA Life Insurance. No prior health diagnosis is required.
In 2018, Egypt recorded 128 892 new cases of cancer with 85 432 deaths; the most common of which are liver and breast cancer.
