Apr 2008 The insurance market is thriving. By the end of November 2007, the emirate had 165 insurance and reinsurance companies registered in the country against 155 at the end of 2006. At the same date, the sector employed a total of 1103 staff members, 63% of whom are nationals.
Among the thirty-three companies operating on the local market, eleven have the status of branches to foreign companies.
