According to Byblos Bank, 38 Lebanese non-life insurers achieved a 2% turnover increase in 2020. The premiums rose from 1.13 billion USD in 2019 to 1.16 billion USD in 2020.
The top insurers account for 64.7% of the total non-life market compared to 64.2% in 2019. Bankers Assurance maintains its leading position with 126.3 million USD in written premiums. It is followed by MedGulf and Fidelity Assurance & Reinsurance with 114 million USD and 82.8 million USD respectively.
Allianz SNA (76.6 million USD) and AXA Middle East (76.3 million USD) rank fourth and fifth.
Note that Trust Insurance and Liberty Insurance ceased their activities in 2019 while three other non-life insurance companies have not yet published their results for the year 2020.
