The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a complaint on 16 June 2021 in the federal court of the District of Columbia in order to block the 30 billion USD acquisition of Willis Towers Watson by Aon.
According to the DOJ, the merger threatens to eliminate competition, increase prices and reduce innovation for American companies.
The DOJ also considers that the asset cessions proposed by the two brokers are insufficient.
