Insurance giants AXA, Allianz, Aviva, Generali, Munich Re, Scor, Swiss Re and Zurich Insurance Group have created the Net-Zero Insurance Alliance (NZIA).
Through this alliance, the eight founders aim to develop standards to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
The initiative is in line with the Paris Agreement of 2015 which aims to limit global warming to 1.5°C by 2100.
