With 2.4 billion USD of premiums in 2020, the Egyptian insurance market [4] ranks third in Africa. The first and second positions are held respectively by South Africa and Morocco.
The market includes 41 operators among which 25 non-life insurance companies and 16 life companies. It also involves large regional and global groups namely Misr Insurance, Metlife, Allianz, Axa, GIG, QNB, Canal Suez, Bupa and Delta.
