Allianz completes the acquisition of Aviva's operations in Poland and Lithuania

Allianz Announced on 26 March 2021, the acquisition of Aviva's activities in Poland and Lithuania by the Allianz group has been finalized. The transaction amounts to 2.5 billion EUR (2.8 billion USD).

The deal includes the Polish life and non-life insurance, pension and asset management activities, 51% stakes in Aviva's bancassurance joint ventures with Santander Bank Polska and the British group's life activities in Lithuania.

Through this transaction, Allianz becomes the most profitable international player in the Central and Eastern European market. In Poland, the German insurer becomes the fifth largest insurer (life and non-life) in the country and the second largest in the life market.
