The insurance comparator LeLynx.fr has published the 2021 barometer of France motor insurance [4]. After four years of consecutive rises, the average motor insurance premium fell by 1.38% in 2021, that is, 9 EUR (10.15 USD) less compared to 2020.
The decrease in rates is mainly due to the drop in motor claims caused by the lockdown and the massive recourse to teleworking during the pandemic.
Increased competition between insurers has also contributed to a decrease in rates.
