The Egyptian government is introducing an insurance coverage for Egyptians working abroad who are under 65 years old.
Developed in collaboration with the Insurance Federation of Egypt (IFE), the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and the Egyptian Association for Travel Insurance, the solution went into effect on 1 January 2022.
The policy covers repatriation costs in case of accidental or natural death for an amount of 100 000 EGP (6 350 USD). The product can be underwritten online through the Egyptian Pool for Travel Insurance at https://epti-egy.org/ep/. The annual premium is around 100 EGP (6.35 USD).
It is worth noting that the number of Egyptian expatriates is estimated at 13 million of which 68% are settled in Arab countries.
