HSBC Insurance (Asia), a subsidiary of the British bank HSBC, has been granted approval by the Chinese supervisory authority CBIRC to acquire 50% of the capital of its joint venture HSBC Life China. This stake was previously held by National Trust.
HSBC Insurance (Asia) thus becomes the sole 100% shareholder of the life insurance company.
