Mar 2011 The combined net profits of the five local companies have increased by 7% in one year at 244.2 million USD. Qatar Insurance Co. (QIC), which holds more than 60% of the market shares, posted a net profit of 162 million USD (+9%). Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance (32.8 million USD), Al Khaleej Takaful (20 million USD), Doha Insurance (16.8 million USD) and Qatar Islamic Insurance (12.6 million USD) come next.
The combined turnover of the market amounts to 964 million USD for 2010. QIC has a market share of 61.3%, followed by Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance (14.8%), Doha Insurance (10.5%), Al Khaleej Takaful (8.3%) and Qatar Islamic Insurance (5.1%).
