The feasibility study conducted by Ernest Young is designed to set up a national reinsurance company from now up to the end of the second quarter of 2010. The aim is also to retain in Uganda part of the insurance premiums underwritten by the reinsurers settled in Tanzania and Kenya. This volume is estimated at 40% of the overall premiums, that is, 70 billion UGX (37.3 million USD). Continental Re and Baobab Re would be detaining 40% of the capital.
