FTI Consulting, a Washington, D.C.-based business consulting firm, reported that the United Kingdom and Ireland combine to have the highest number of M&A deals in Europe in Q1 2022.
A total of 44 deals were closed, a decrease of 38% compared to 71 mergers in Q1 2021.
The business consulting firm also explains that overall M&A deal volume in Europe shrank in early 2022 due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and a backlog of deals closed during the pandemic.
