Swiss ReSwiss Re [4] has joined the five investors in the NextGen program of the Swiss company South Pole aiming at the development of carbon capture techniques. Through this initiative, the reinsurer honors its commitment to protect the environment.

NextGen plans to acquire more than one million tons of Carbon Dioxyde Removals (CDRs) from innovative technology projects for delivery in 2030.

The other four companies partnering in the project include UBS Bank, Boston Consulting Group, LGT Bank and Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K.
