Holmarcom Insurance Activities (HIA), Crédit Immobilier et Hôtelier (CIH BANK), Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) and Qatar Islamic Insurance Company (QIIC) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding. It deals with the acquisition of a stake in the capital of Takafulia Assurances, which is currently 100% owned by HIA, the holding company of the Moroccan group Holmarcom.
The capital of the participative insurance company will be divided between the following companies
- 60% for HIA
- 20% for CIH BANK
- 10% for QIIB
- 10% for QIIC
The operation remains subject to the approval of the competent authorities.
Launched in February 2022, Takafulia Assurances is licensed by the Supervisory Authority for Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) to carry out Takaful Family and Takaful General activities.
