The pan-African group SUNU has acquired a 54.11% stake in the capital of the International Bank for Commerce and Industry of Senegal (BICIS) from BNP Paribas.
This transaction is part of a long-standing partnership between the two groups in the field of bancassurance in sub-Saharan Africa. The deal is still pending approval from the relevant authorities.
In Senegal, BICIS will remain the preferred partner of BNP Paribas' international network. The latter, on the other hand, will be the preferred partner of the Senegalese bank on an international level for its Senegalese customers.
