Mar 2011 Japan Insurance has developed an insurance scheme that reimburses the full cost of travel in case of rain or snow above a certain level recorded at the customer’s domestic destination. For the time being, this insurance works only in Japan. Japan Insurance plans to sell this insurance coverage through travel agencies. The company will collect data in more than 100 cities around the world before offering coverage for travel abroad.
