The competent authorities of the United Arab Emirates have made underwriting health insurance mandatory in all emirates of the country. The decision will become effective at the end of Q1 2023.
Currently, this coverage is only compulsory in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
This initiative is intended to increase the sector's turnover thanks to the projected growth in the number of underwritten policies and insured persons.
This decision was made following the 8th Health Insurance Conference, organized by the Emirates Insurance Association. The event brought together 150 industry professionals.
