Proposed merger between Arabian Shield and Alinma Tokio Marine

On 13 December 2022, Arabian Shield Cooperative Insurance and Alinma Tokio Marine Insurance signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a potential merger.

The two companies, listed on the Saudi Tadawul Stock Exchange, will conduct operational, technical, financial, legal and actuarial due diligence on the terms and conditions of the transaction. The operation will take the form of a share exchange between the two companies.

The deal is still pending a definitive agreement between the two parties as well as the approval of the relevant authorities and the shareholders of the companies involved.

This move comes a few months following the completion of the merger between Arabian Shield and Alahli Takaful [4].
