Zurich Insurance has ended the 2022 financial year with a net result of 4.603 billion USD, which represents a 12% decline compared to the 5.202 billion USD recorded on 31 December 2021.
The business operating profit (BOP) went up by 12% to reach 6.451 billion USD at the end of 2022. This is the best operating performance recorded by the Swiss group since 2007.
As of 31 December 2022, the property-casualty (P&C) business posted 43.335 billion USD in written premiums, showing an 8% growth over a year. The non-life combined ratio remained stable at 94.3% for a BOP of 3.554 billion USD.
The life premiums have dropped from 28.853 billion USD in 2021 to 25.89 billion USD one year later. The life class of business has achieved a BOP of 1.963 billion USD.
For the financial year 2022, Zurich Insurance is distributing a dividend of 24 CHF (26 USD) per share, a 9% increase compared to 2021.
