Lloyd's of London [4] has released its preliminary results for the financial year 2022. The London insurance and reinsurance giant has ended the past year, all activities included, with a 19% increase in its turnover to 46 billion GBP (55.5 billion USD).
Despite the major claims linked to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and to natural catastrophes, the combined ratio has improved by 1.6 points to stand at 91.9%.
The British insurer has posted a pre-tax loss of 800 million GBP (964.7 million USD) as at 31 December 2022 against a pre-tax profit of 2.3 billion GBP (3.1 billion USD) in 2021. This deficit was the result of a loss on investment amounting to 3 billion GBP (3.6 billion USD).
Lloyd's final results will be published on 23 March 2023.
