Nov 2011 Following both companies’ merger and the approval of the finance ministry, Insurance Company of East Africa (ICEA) has proceeded to the transfer of its non-life insurance portfolio to Lion of Kenya. Both companies are owned by First Chartered Securities. This move is designed to establish a large-scale company dotted with a capital that is large enough to withstand the sector’s emerging needs.
