Despite the economic losses caused by the series of natural catastrophes in 2011, Asia remains an attractive destination for investors. Losses in 2011, estimated at 370 billion USD, a third of which covered by insurers, were not enough to affect the growth prospects of the region. According to Swiss Re, the insurance premiums will increase by 2% to 10% in 2012. This increase is accounted for by the fear of Asian people from natural catastrophes and the consequent rising demand for insurance.
