Jun 2012 According to a survey conducted by the reinsurer Swiss Re, China ranks first in terms of flood risks followed by other emerging economies such as Brazil, Russia and India. This study relies on a combination of factors: the increase of the real GDP, the foreign direct investment and the flood risk index. Thailand and Vietnam are respectively ranking 7th and 10th. This ranking is poised to change because of the possible relocation of some Japanese companies.
