Feb 2007 Cairo has hosted on January 15 and 16, 2007 the first general assembly of the International Union of Takaful Insurance Companies. The meeting set the 2007 budget and union's working schedule.
The union's permanent headquarter will be set up in Sudan while the general secretariat will be entrusted to Ustaz Hashim Mohamed Al Khatib. The next general assembly will be held in six months time in Doha, (Qatar).
