As the process of recapitalisation imposed by the new law has been achieved, the supervising authority, NAICOM, has confirmed its decision to grant licenses to more than forty insurance companies.

Among the non-life insurers authorized to operate we note the following ones : Niger Insurance Plc, Cornerstone Insurance, Alliance & General Insurance, Aiico Insurance, Goldlink Insurance and Leadway Assurance, Zenith General Insurance, Oceanic General Insurance, Custodian & Allied Insurance, Equity Indemnity Insurance, Standard Trust Assurance Company and Guinea Insurance.

Before then, the market counted 104 operators. It is estimated that the sector's restructuring will account for about a thousand redundancies.
