Aetna and Apple launch a health application
In partnership with the insurer Aetna, which specializes in health insurance, Apple plans to launch "Attain", a new application dedicated to health care.
Being a personal coaching program, the application encourages the insured to lead a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. Once adopted, this product entitles rewards ranging from gift cards to an Apple Watch.
The application works via an Apple Watch capable of measuring heartbeat and hours of sleep. Data that will not be used by the Apple brand can be processed by Aetna to expand its customer database.
This partnership allows the American multinational specializing in electronic products to diversify its revenue streams and Aetna to introduce preventive measures. This product could also offset the fall in sales of Apple smartphones.
