Allianz opens a new hub in Africa

AllianzThe German insurer Allianz is setting up a new hub in the Ivorian economic capital, Abidjan, dedicated to its operational activities in Africa.

It is the third African hub after Casablanca (Morocco) dedicated to finance and audit and Nairobi (Kenya), the human resources specialist.

The Abidjan pole will be in charge of, among other things, underwriting activities, business development, communication and information technology. It will be run by Delphine Traoré Maïdou, Regional Chief Operating Officer and Regional Executive Board Member of Allianz Africa.

The new hub's activity will not impact that of the other hubs, ensures the communication manager of Allianz Africa. Allianz has turned towards Africa for three years to conquer new markets in growing countries. Its new Ivorian hub will strengthen its presence on the continent.

The group is present in 17 African countries where it employs 1 500 people. Its turnover reached 130.6 billion EUR (149.4 billion USD) in 2018.
